Terms of
sale.

The plain-English terms that apply when you buy from us. They don't affect your legal rights as a consumer, which always come first.

About us

Shonen Collectables is an online trading card retailer based in the United Kingdom. You can contact us at hello@shonencollectables.co.uk.

These terms apply to every order placed on shonencollectables.co.uk. Please read them before you buy. If anything in them is unclear, ask us.

Our products

  • Everything we sell is genuine, official product. Sealed products are sold factory sealed and are never opened, weighed or searched by us.
  • Booster packs are randomly assorted by the manufacturer. We can't promise what any pack or box contains, and the cards you pull aren't grounds for a refund.
  • Product photos show the item as accurately as we can. Packaging can vary slightly between print runs (for example reprints with different box markings). Where a specific print matters, like a white-bottom reprint, we say so in the listing.
  • We describe each item's condition honestly. Small marks on outer shrink-wrap from manufacturing or transport aren't treated as a defect.

Graded slabs

  • A grade is the independent opinion of the grading company named on the slab (such as PSA, BGS or CGC). It isn't a grade given by us, and we can't guarantee another grader would agree.
  • Every slab is sold exactly as graded. We show the certificate number on the product page so you can check it with the grading company before you buy.
  • Slabs must stay intact to keep their grade. A slab returned cracked, opened or tampered with may not be refunded in full (see returns).

Prices & payment

  • Prices are in pounds sterling. All prices include VAT where applicable.
  • Postage is shown at checkout before you pay.
  • Payment is taken securely by Stripe when you place your order. We accept the cards and wallets shown at checkout.
  • If we make an obvious mistake in a price, we'll contact you. You can then buy at the correct price or cancel for a full refund. We won't hold you to a price that's clearly wrong, and we won't hold ourselves to one either.

Your order

After you pay, you'll get an order confirmation email. Our contract with you starts when we send that confirmation.

We may need to cancel an order, for example if an item turns out to be out of stock, if there's a pricing error, or if we suspect fraud. If that happens we'll tell you and refund you in full straight away.

Purchase limits

To keep new releases fair for collectors, we may limit how many of an item one customer can buy. That includes orders using different names, emails or cards that go to the same address. Orders over a limit may be reduced or cancelled, with a refund for anything we don't send.

Pre-orders

Pre-order items are paid for when you order and dispatched when we receive them. Release dates are set by the publisher and can change. If our allocation is cut and we can't fill your pre-order, we'll refund you in full. You can cancel a pre-order any time before it's dispatched. An order containing pre-order items is sent in one parcel once every item is in stock.

Delivery

Delivery options, prices and times are explained on our shipping page. Your order is our responsibility until it reaches you or someone you've nominated. If it's lost or damaged in the post, we'll replace it or refund you.

Cancelling & returns

You can cancel within 14 days of receiving your order without giving a reason, and if something is faulty you have extra rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. How that works, including the condition items must be returned in, is on our returns page.

Our responsibility to you

We're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that's a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. We're not responsible for loss that wasn't foreseeable, or for business losses (our products are for personal use).

Nothing in these terms limits our liability where it would be unlawful to, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for your rights as a consumer, such as goods being as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose.

Other important terms

  • Age: you must be 18 or over, or have a parent or guardian's permission, to buy from us.
  • Events outside our control: if something we can't reasonably control (such as a postal strike or a publisher delay) affects your order, we'll tell you and you can cancel for a full refund.
  • Trademarks: One Piece, Dragon Ball Super, Pokémon and Riftbound and their logos are trademarks of their respective owners. We're an independent retailer and aren't endorsed by or affiliated with them.
  • Changes: we may update these terms. The version on the site when you order applies to that order.
  • Law: these terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
  • Problems: if something goes wrong, please email us first. We'll always try to sort it out quickly and fairly.
